Hello Parents or Guardians!
As you know our class fieldtrip is quickly approaching. We will be traveling to the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Thursday April 22, 2008. I am thoroughly exciting to share the wonderful world of art with your children. I am positive this fieldtrip will provide much knowledge for your children in many aspects of their lives. We will be spending a week or so focusing on famous artists from history and learning about different types of art. This will prepare your children for the many unique pieces of artwork your children will see on our fieldtrip.
During our visit to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, your children will be viewing four different exhibits. These four exhibits will consist of sculpture, ceramics, pastel portraits and watercolor portraits. We will be provided with a tour guide who will speak with your children on the different artworks we will see.
This trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art will take place on Thursday, April 22, 2008. The buses will depart from the school at approximately 9 AM. We will spend the whole school day at the museum and arrive back at school around 3 PM. Students are asked to please bring a packed lunch and wear weather-appropriate clothing. We will be eating lunch outside; this will take place at 12 noon. Also, please make sure your children wear appropriate footwear because we will be walking for a large portion of the day.
